Musician Track
We do things differently around here...
We believe that if you're going learn music, you deserve to have a personlized, comprehensive experience!
The standard "weekly lesson and 2 terrifying recitals each year" model...well, it just doesn't work for us!
We don't think music should be terrifying. In fact, we think that learning music appropriately for your goals removes the worst of the anxiety around performing.
And as much as we adore kids, we also understand that adult musicians have different needs.
Here's how we do it.
Step 1:
Take the brave step of deciding to learn
When you're over the age of 30, it can be difficult to convince yourself that you have the potential to learn an instrument!
We promise, it is completely within your capability. We see it every day.
All of our instructors are specifically selected for their enthusiasm for working with amateur adults. We might not have met each other yet, but we already believe in you.
Maybe you used to play, years ago, and would like to resurrect your instrument. Or maybe you've never played but watched with envy from the sidelines as friends or family members performed.
Maybe you've thought, "I wonder what it's like to be up there?"
Or maybe, worst of all, you've had so-called "friends" and family--people who should want to encourage and support you--tell you you're not good enough. "You're tone deaf." "You don't have rhythm." "You can't carry a tune in a bucket."
Leave the diagnoses to the professionals.
Music is for everyone, and just because someone's been playing their whole life says nothing about what you are capable of.
Step 2:
Choose an instrument you'd love to study, and begin!
Once you've decided you'd like music in your life, your opportinities are endless!
We're guessing you have an idea of what you'd like to start with.
And if not, that's okay too! We're happy to give you some suggestions.
Lessons are weekly and usually go for 30 minutes.
Step 3:
Join an incredible community of peers
See, here's the thing. We believe that music is meant to be shared.
We don't just lock you away to study your instrument. In addition to your private study, you also get:
-
2 gatherings each year with fellow members (performing is encouraged but optional!)
-
Access to incredible classes that teach you skills like performance technique, advanced musical phrasing, and more!
-
Entrance to one of our incredible workshops that help you expand your boundaries! DJing, Salsa, Irish music, and more.
You'll be able to meet new friends, collaborators, and mentors, all while bringing the joy of music into your life!
