Boost your choral game big time with Summer Choir!
You LOVE to sing. So do we! Spend your summer doing what you love and making huge progress in your musicianship!
Zeitgeist Summer Choir is a week-long summer program for high-school aged singers who appreciate vocal variety. Led by performers and teachers with decades of choral experience, this is a chance for young people to explore their abilities and potential as soloists, ensemble singers, and well-rounded vocalists.
Summer Choir is designed to strengthen singers' performance skills and build confidence in learning and performing music. Students will participate in skills classes on vocal technique, theory, sight singing, diction, ensemble blend, microphone etiquette, leadership, musical communication, and performance. There will also be master classes with local soloists, directors, composers, and actors in a wide variety of genres.
At the conclusion, students can expect to have stronger musicianship skills, more polished performance techniques, and a better understanding of how music is put together. In addition, they will have made new friends and connections who share their passion for singing and will help each other become better collaborators.
Who should apply?
High school students who are participating in choir the following year, or sang during the 2017-18 school year. Singers with no experience must complete Beginning Choir in order to participate in any of the other programs.
